Welcome from our President, September 2023

Hello Tigers!

We have an amazing extended community of Princeton alumni, parents, and students here in Central Texas. The greater Austin area continues to grow quickly, and we’re excited to welcome our newest arrivals. There are now 764 undergraduate & graduate alumni in our region, spanning classes from 1947 through 2023, as well as more than 20 current students hailing from Central Texas.

The PCA was chartered with the following goals:

  • To serve Princeton by providing interviews for all local undergraduate applicants

  • To serve the Austin community through volunteer service activities

  • To serve its members through social and educational activities

Last year, our all-star team of volunteer alumni interviewed 183 local undergrad applicants to Princeton!  Our club hosted more than 30 events including happy hours, outdoor activities, educational events, dinners and brunches, and volunteer activities. We had a fabulous turnout for the Princeton-UT women’s basketball game in November and the men’s basketball March Madness watch parties. The university also generously sponsored several incredible events - an entrepreneurship panel and networking event, a SXSW happy hour, and our inaugural Celebrate Pride Party.

Our club was honored to receive the Austin P. Leland ‘28 Award from Princeton this spring in recognition of general excellence among regional associations with more than 300 members. This is our third prestigious award in two years! The Office of Alumni Engagement will join us at a local event this year to officially present the club with this award.

We are excited to continue this terrific momentum - and enjoy the company of even more local alumni this year! Please browse through our website to learn how you can engage with the PCA. Our Club aims to offer a wide variety of activities that appeal to our diverse demographics, and we’re always eager for feedback, ideas and new volunteers. As new activities get added to the calendar, our team will send email announcements (make sure your contact info is up to date on TigerNet) and post on social media.

The PCA is an all-volunteer organization that depends exclusively on dues and donations to subsidize our events and administrative costs. Please consider becoming a dues-paying member of the Club by contributing at a level that meets your current budget.

I am excited to work with you and our leadership team to foster our lifelong connection with Princeton and look forward to seeing you at upcoming events. Let’s have an amazing year!

Go Tigers!
